12/7589 Charity Chief Executive, Based London and Kent, *permanent opportunity c.£100K

An exciting opportunity for a new Chief Executive has arisen with one of our charity clients; an organisation that provides a range of education, training and employment services that meet the needs of people who have a particular type of disability. It works to remove barriers to personal fulfilment and social inclusion. For almost 200 years the organisation has served people with devotion and care. It now requires a first class Chief Executive to build on this legacy.

This is an interesting time for the organisation: the adult support and community services are growing across London whilst at the same time funding frameworks are changing and many organisations are working smarter by working together. Your in-tray will be full, but near the top of that list will be diversifying income streams, driving up quality and raising the profile. With a turnover of nearly £9m and a staff of nearly 300 across 4 sites you will be experienced at managing big numbers.

In order to be considered for this role, you will be an experienced CEO or senior divisional director of an organisation of comparable size within the public, not for profit or education sector. You will also have a demonstrable track record of:

• developing an organisation’s culture that delivers high standards of service provision, ideally in the field of disability
• negotiating effectively with a wide range of statutory and non-statutory organisations
• of successfully identifying and pursuing opportunities for growth and organisational development
• developing partnerships and collaborative relationships with other organisations

If you think this might be for you, in the first instance please send your current CV and a covering note indentifying how you meet the criteria above to ian.joseph@russam-gms.co.uk and emma.kynoch@russam-gms.co.uk no later than noon on Monday 7th June.

Long-listed candidates will be asked to attend an interview with Russam GMS on 9th and 10th June and will of course be briefed before the interview with further details about the role and the client – it would be helpful to if you are available on either or both these dates.
